I have an energetic personality with ambitions of success,
but of a learning experience as well. Although I take my work and school ethic
serious, a sense of humor plays a great role in who I am. I have a passion for
being in front of a camera and delivering news to an audience! I aspire to one
day become a reporter and anchor my own newscasts segment.
On a daily note, with being a fulltime student and working
two part-time jobs my day runs about 90mph. I do not have much journalism or
broadcast work experience but I have learned a lot in these past three years of
my career. What I have done is divided my time into two part time jobs that
have not only taught me responsibility and time management, but great
communication skills. When I am not working as a cashier and stocking shelves
at a Dollar General Store or serving at an Italian restaurant, I dedicate my
time to creating weekly newscasts for UTANEWS, which are streamed live every
Monday at 4pm through their website. In my tight schedule I fit in a position
at the accounting department of our church, where I am in charge of the
counting of funds collected for the day and the deposit paperwork. Other than
school and work, spending time with my family and fiancée is one of my greatest
priorities!
I’m proud of where I am today and what I have accomplished. I
hope to find an internship for the spring of 2015, preferably at a TV station,
where I can shadow a reporter or anchor.
